About

Instant rails put every balance on the clock.

TulaDB was designed against the participant requirements of Payments Canada's Real-Time Rail, which launches in phases from late 2026, by a founder who has worked on real-time payments, clearing and settlement. Joining an instant rail exposes the layer most institutions never had to get perfect: posting. Payments arrive at any hour and settle within seconds, while the core still books in batches — and between them sits a memo-posting table, a pile of application code, and a nightly reconciliation that finds the mistakes after the money has moved.

TulaDB exists to make that layer a product: a ledger that sits in front of the core, keeps one real-time balance across every rail, posts a resent payment once, and enforces the liquidity floor on every payment. The evidence is published, so the part of a payment system that can't afford to be improvised isn't.

How we work

Three principles, applied everywhere.

Fail closed

When safety and convenience conflict, the system stops loudly rather than continuing wrong. That holds from config parsing to quorum decisions to the installer itself.

Evidence over adjectives

Guarantees come with the tests behind them: fault injection, model replay, and chaos campaigns with exact balance validation. The coverage limits are stated just as clearly.

Say only what we can show

The docs are written against the current code, measurements are date-stamped with their hardware attached, and preview status is stated on every surface. Conservative claims age better.

Team

Who's building it.

TulaDB is founder-led. The engine, SDKs, correctness testing and documentation are built by a small team working directly with design partners.

Shubham Srivastava, founder of TulaDB

Shubham Srivastava

Founder

A payments and distributed-systems architect with more than 13 years designing and building financial and transactional systems. His background spans real-time payments, clearing and settlement, liquidity, ISO 20022, transactional data architecture, distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and highly available data platforms.

He founded TulaDB so that institutions joining instant-payment rails get a ledger that stays exact under retries and failures instead of having to build one. Correctness, durability, deterministic processing, idempotency, replication and auditability are designed into the data layer.

The company

Built by TulaDB Inc.

TulaDB is developed by TulaDB Inc. The product is in developer preview. Evaluate it against your workload and, if you are preparing for an instant rail, talk to us about a shadow-mode pilot.

The name comes from tulā, the balance scale. Every debit reconciled against its credit.

Product
Build payment, settlement and liquidity systems without building the ledger underneath: the ledger engine, an operations console and tooling, and Iceberg analytics, with SDKs in five languages and REST gateways.
Status
Developer preview. Suitable for evaluation, local proof, and controlled pilots; production use requires deployment-specific validation.
