Verify

Check the signature, then the hashes.

Download the files you need plus that release's SHA256SUMS, SHA256SUMS.cosign.bundle and trusted_root.json (under Checksums and signature above) into one directory. With cosign v3, run the two commands, setting IDENTITY to that release's signer identity. Do not run a file if either fails.

For a check independent of our server, drop --offline --trusted-root trusted_root.json: cosign then fetches Sigstore's trust root itself. Our CI does both before a release appears here.

Supported platforms

What each download runs on.

Linux servers (production)Ubuntu 22.04 and 24.04, Debian 12, RHEL 9 (Rocky and AlmaLinux 9 count as RHEL 9); x86_64 and arm64; systemd with apt or dnf. Other distributions are refused unless you pass --allow-unsupported-os.

macOS (development)Apple silicon. Installs under ~/.tuladb with no service and no root.

SDKsPython 3.9+ and Java 21+ on any platform; Go 1.21+ and Rust from the module zip and the crate. The C library is built for Linux x86_64; elsewhere, build it from the C source archive.

DashboardLinux x86_64 and arm64 with Python 3.12. The installer checks every file against SHA256SUMS and needs no network.

Iceberg exporterWheelhouses for glibc Linux x86_64 and arm64, CPython 3.11 and 3.12, installed with pip install --no-index; the host must already have that Python.

Developer quick setupDocker (Compose v2) or Podman (rootless is fine, with podman-compose) on Linux x86_64 or arm64, or macOS on Apple silicon; about 2.5 GB of free disk and 3 GB of container memory for three nodes, 2 GB for one. ./eval.sh doctor checks it all.
